*After gluing the specimens onto the black paper, let them dry on the back counter so they can be hung on the wall above the soil & sand area to display!

Underwater Volcanoes- SeptemberStudents will learn about underwater volcanoes, recognizing that there are different types of volcanic eruptions.

Heat Lab 1: How does heat move in liquids and gases - JanuaryStudents will test what happens when air is heated using dry ice, a candle, and boiling water.
Please have ALL classes do this lab on the SAME day as you will need dry ice for this lab.

Heat Lab 2: Convection and Heat- March/AprilStudents will use jars, smoke and cardboard to test what happens to the smoke when heat is applied versus cold environments. They will also identify what material best heats water using jars, black paper, & aluminum foil. And lastly they will test distance and energy using a flashlight and paper.
PREP: Need ice cubes. Can use trays in freezer in the lab. |
